School and I were never on particularly good terms and as a result I never absorbed the traditions around grammar or punctuation or even capitalization. Get over it! If Cormac McCarthy can write one of the great American novels, Blood Meridian, with a decided lack of quotes and commas I can write with very inconsistent and often incorrect usage of all the rules of writing. This is an old school blog harkening back to the before times when I had a site on geocities or was hand coding html on a site I hosted.
Having to remember how to do DNS zone files for this site has been a total pita. I had pushed all of those dark arts into a corner of my brain where I never expected I would need to access them again. A, CNAME, MX, DMARC, TXT are now set and now I will blissfully go back to forgetting them all.
You may ask why I’m talking about this nerd stuff and not about running or more realistically no one will ever read this and wonder at all. But, in writing and websites and running some things really are optional. There are necessities if you want to have a functioning website and if you want to improve your running economy. Speed work and DNS are required. Punctuation is not.
